You are mistaken. Kenya was a date format exception and still is.
Dr. Maganga’s name was “Heltan,” not “Helton.” While there were different versions of his name in the press, he was unlikely to sign his name wrong. And what a pretty signature for a hard-working hospital administrator.
There is also some question about whether he actually was the chief administrator of the hospital at the time the fake birth certificate was supposedly discovered. Dr Magaganga has said that he was not the chief administrator at the time and did not sign the document.
Dr. James O W Ang’awa did exist, was well-known as one of the early native Kenyan doctors, and lived near Barack Sr. before he was murdered in 1970, but that was in Nairobi. He moved from Mombasa to Nairobi earlier that year, and obstetrics/pediatrics was not his specialty. No record of John Kwame Odongo has been found.
Lucas Daniel Smith, the supposed discoverer, is a shady character who’s had trouble with the law over the years. There’s a nice video he shot in the Caribbean to leave the impression that he was in Kenya. Even today, it’s expensive to get all the way to Kenya.
