Someone let me know when Cher is washed out to sea.
I will celebrate for the new year.
Ok, ok. I will celebrate if the big waves simply move the shoreline so close to her house that the shoreline is moved and she has to let bums sleep in her garage.

Since the possibility of towering waves has been forecast for several days now, the people who are going to the beach or surfing are just putting themselves and first responders at risk. There should be signs posted giving warnings and adding that if you proceed then you are on your own and no one will risk their life to rescue you.

The pier designers obviously anticipated such conditions.

Up in the foothills of Northern Kalifornia, the rivers can be quite dangerous during major storms. A few wacko kayakers like to ‘test’ themselves in the fast, churning water. The authorities/rescuers are now charging $$$ for any assistance.

Watch what they say when the inevitable beach and cliff erosion mounts up. “Rising sea levels!”
To: Libloather
I lived on the water for many years in So. Cal. but it was on a small bluff.

At the current rate of increase they will have 1,000 foot tall waves by January 49th (sic). Then on February 29th comes the really BIG ONE!

Sort of like the idiot surfers who, upon hearing a tidal wave warning, head off into the ocean hoping to surf "the ultimate wave," not realizing that tidal waves are not like waves generated by winds and tides and are almost impossible to surf.

You forgot to mention it is all due to global warming and does not Al Gore have beachfront property?
