Sorry, but I never read a single word after an author uses “CE” to mark time.
Not interested.
Man O Man I had the same reaction to the “CE” usage — so unnecessary, so indicative of the real problem. It’s gonna be 2024 AD, and the sum and substance of the problem, AND THE SOLUTION, is between the covers of the Bible.
Even the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC hasn’t abandoned BC and AD.
I’m in 100% agreement with you.
+1
Nor do I.

For me it depends on why it was used. If it’s wokeness, that’s one thing. But if the author is an observant Jew, I would give him some leeway.
Had the same reaction you did.

Okay, but you’re doing yourself a disservice.
I don’t care for “CE” because “AD” (standing for “Anno Domini — The Year Of Our LORD) is from a physical and spiritual perspective more accurate.
That said, this article is blow-you-away thought provoking and excellent. So I’ll forgive Mr. Kunstler his “CE”.
I’m guessing CE was written intentionally because even the usage of AD would seem odd — the usage of either is irrelevant to the span of recent times. With respect to the existence of the Country, it’s not necessary to make the distinction between 2024 BC and 2024 AD. For example, we don’t refer to the birth as 1776 AD.
The usage of CE seems to be a mockery of the term itself.
Per Wikipedia: “Kunstler was born in New York City to Jewish parents...”
Let’s ignore anything a Jew has to say if, because of his religious beliefs, he uses ‘CE’ instead of ‘AD’.
“I never read a single word after an author uses ‘CE’ to mark time.”
Never heard of it. Just looked it up. What a load of crap, huh?

A perfect example, IMHO, of the olde idiom of “throwing the baby out with the bathwater”.
Very valid points worth considering in this article. Any knee-jerk refusal to even read the material is very closed-minded and short-sighted... and in doing so, you are doing yourself a disservice. JS...
