At least six explosions have occurred in the city of Kharkiv during an air raid. Civil infrastructure and houses were damaged, 20 people are known to have been injured, including two minors and a UK journalist.

Earlier, the Ukrainian Air Force reported the threat of ballistic missile strikes in Poltava, Kharkiv, Sumy and Dnipropetrovsk oblasts.

Later, Syniehubov added that the Russians had inflicted over six hits, particularly in the central part of Kharkiv.

“There is damage to civilian infrastructure. Relevant services are responding at the sites of the hits,” the official said.

At the same time, Terekhov reported a hit to a residential building in the city centre.

At 19:56, Syniehubov reported that doctors are providing assistance to eight victims, all of them are hospitalised. Four of the victims are in a moderate condition, and the other four have only minor injuries.

“The occupiers hit the central part of the city of Kharkiv. There is damage to civil infrastructure: a medical institution, apartment residential buildings, shops and other public places and transport. Exclusively civil infrastructure!” Syniehubov wrote.

Ukrainska Pravda reported the Kharkiv Palace Hotel had been damaged.

At 20:23, Terekhov reported that, according to preliminary data, there were no casualties as a result of the attack.

“At the moment, we have 14 victims. According to preliminary information, 5 are already in hospital,” the message says.

Later, the number of casualties grew to 16.

Sinehubov said eight people were hospitalised as of 20:30.

“A 16-year-old young man was hospitalised with shrapnel injuries due to a Russian attack on a block of flats, his condition is moderate,” the official stated.

Ukraine’s Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko reported that a journalist from the United Kingdom was also injured in the Russian bombardment of Kharkiv.

Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov reported on air of the telethon that “17 residents of the city of Kharkiv and those who were injured in the hotel” sought medical attention.

In particular, a foreign journalist was injured and is in hospital. In addition, nine people were hospitalised.

“There was a hit to a hotel in Kharkiv’s centre, which housed people; they sustained injuries. Furthermore, there was a hit and explosions in a residential building, there are also injured people and severe damage,” the mayor said.

The Kharkiv Oblast Prosecutor’s Office reported at 21:36 that 20 people, including children and a foreign citizen, were injured in a Russian attack on the centre of Kharkiv.

The attack damaged a hotel, blocks of flats, a kindergarten, administrative buildings, shops, restaurants, trade pavilions, vehicles belonging to civilians, etc.

Quote from the Prosecutor’s Office: “To date, we know of 20 people that have been injured, including two young men, 16 and 14, and a security adviser to a German media team, a UK citizen. Nine of the injured were treated on the spot.

Early reports indicate that the Russians fired S-300 missiles on the city from the territory of Russia’s Belgorod Oblast.”

Russia launched 158 missiles and drones in a coordinated night air strike on Ukraine in order to pierce Ukraine’s air defenses and hit civilian targets. Ordinary Ukrainians react with resolve and determination never to let Russia win this war.
