The Brits are better at TV horror & suspense, like Thrillers.

Heinlein, Clarke, Asimov, Hal Clement, Greg Bear, Fred Saberhagen, Poul Anderson, Gordon Dickson — Joe Haldeman is still alive but was looking pretty sickly the last time I met him. David Drake died about two weeks ago. There are a lot more great dead SF writers than good living ones, I’m sorry to say.

Fred Pohl, Damon Knight, Jack Williamson, Gene Wolfe, Jerry Pournelle, Ben Bova — I miss Ben and Jerry, and I don’t mean the ice cream. The current president of SFWA is one Jeffe Kennedy, “a fantasy and erotic romance author.”
