There are a TON of VinFast in Vietnam, loads of them.
They are working the production bugs out here, by the time production begins in America, we will have a good $13,000 car, made in Americca.
At least after the rebate. 😎

Nothing like "free" money to make once unaffordable things affordable. Can they do that with mortgages? Gasoline? Food? Heating bills?

Looks like 2026.
2026? You mean the year manufacturers have to add devices to allow remote shut-of, and other devices to make sure you are not driving impaired? Of course, traction control and rear view cameras are already required, as are air bags. If these folks were just allowed to make cars, who knows how reasonably priced they could be?
