Thanks, and thanks, All.
This one has nothing to do with vacc’s, etc. My side of the family has a history of lung issues, usually not fatal, but, my brother smoked and drank too. Not a good combo, even though he never got obese and was physically quite active until a few years ago. He’s only 66. And had respiratory problems way before COVID. Once upon a time he was one of IBM’s top troubleshooters - they sent him all over, even including Egypt...
My condolences Paul.
Desert dust can bring nasty stuff with it from their burning of raw oil, garbage, etc. I keep 2x 10-day supplies of Ciprofloxacin in the fridge for lung infections. The lead time of going thru the medical establishment (”lets try 10 days of amoxycillin first... then a Z-pack... then... “) usually meant a month or more to get well.
I hope he pulls through. And I wish the medical establishment cared more about patients than their administrators and govt. mandates. Wish it went back to the old days when they came to your house first to treat patients. If they started calling for wonky stuff ppl could always tell them to GTFO. Patients first.
