Vladimir Putin has been mocked by Belarusian dictator Alexander Lukashenko over Russia’s shortage of eggs.
Mr Putin’s ally confronted him over the skyrocketing prices of the kitchen staple, with the entire exchange caught on camera at the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council session in St Petersburg.
At the event Mr Putin, 71, was also spotted bizarrely stretching his feet as he waited to greet several fellow ex-Soviet republic leaders, including Mr Lukashenko, 69.
Former farm boss Mr Lukashenko teased the Russian leader that Belarus’s agricultural industry was in better shape than Russia’s.
He said: ‘We have achieved a high level of food self-sufficiency, which in Belarus is almost 100%.
‘We cover our domestic needs in grain, pork, meat, poultry, milk, vegetables, vegetable oils – and eggs.’
Mr Putin smiled and joked: ‘Give us a little, don’t be greedy.’
Egg prices have soared more than 40% in Russia amid shortages linked to rising poultry food prices caused by the war in Ukraine – and even memes have appeared with people saying they need to be wealthy to afford eggs.
Soviet-style queues have formed and the the price for ten eggs has soared to £1.90, an astronomical amount for many Russians – especially pensioners.
This compares with an average pension of £38.49 a week.

President Trump starts office and the World calms down.
Socialist assholes steal 2020 and here we are on fire again.
Liberals are so naive.
Re-read the post where I tell you to stop being a propagandist, and that this forum has no place for your kind.
Tucker Carlson and Fox News were collaborators in The Steal. And Putin was too big of a coward to invade Ukraine with President Trump in office. Peace Through Strength works.
The level of intellect you bring to the forum is that of a rutabega.
It is as if you have a random phrase generator and every time someone posts to you, you produce one of your random phrases.
Stronk like bull!
Of course Putin couldn’t do anything
The Trump family is not on the kickback payroll.
That’s why they must be removed from the playing field, Get It?
I do not care about Russia.
Payroll recipients do.
When President Trump is back in office, he will care about Russia and will make sure they never invade another county again.
Is that the phrase your random-phrase generator provided for you this time?
Do you think President Trump will take steps in his negotiations to ensure that Russia will never invade another country again?
His big concern is that payroll.
I think it crosses political lines. He is up against a fraud that has been going for decades.
The left knows it. They assault that man with everything they can muster against a ham sandwich.
The Ukraine was a need to keep the corruption problem contained.
If you cannot see that, we don’t have much left to talk about.
Do you think you will ever stop being a propagandist on Free Republic? Do you think you will ever stop using your random phrase generator?
Stronk like bull!
Biden took more money in bribes from the Moscow mayor’s wife than from Burisma. And she’s still exempt from US sanctions. Ukraine was peanuts compared to China and Russia.
Are you telling me why you understand Dementia Joe telling the press “incursions are OK?”.
You'll be back with citations and reports from respectable sources, shortly, I'm sure.
There are 5 nations involved to get through the full cycle, yes, Greece is involved.
For a later day.
The only thing I see from this USG is killing hundreds of thousands of people for a corvette.
Dementia Joe and CIA Burns both told Putin that the USA wouldn’t interfere with a “minor incursion”. And Putin and his crappy military screwed up the deal.
Maybe so, but he also will not cater to crooked Ukraine, either.
Define “minor incursion” in Dementia Joe’s brain....
Your kinda dragging me into it.
I don’t care what the incursion is.
It is meant to keep USA tax dollars flowing around the world.
Very clean and folded BTW.
“You didn’t build that!”
President Trump will put the USA first before either Russia or Ukraine. The weaker Russia is, the stronger President Trump’s negotiating position will be. There is one year remaining to continue to demilitarize Russia before Inauguration Day and the work must continue.
Our goal for now should be to demilitarize Russia as much as possible over the next year to ensure President Trump is negotiating with the weakest Russia possible.
