I think Herridge is a keeper. Possubly made of metal.
Her Wikki page skims her haling from Canada, educated at Harvard, Columbia, MA and BA, gave liver part to infant son, FOX to CBS as correspondant. Born in ‘64. Married her husband on 2004.
A lot, but nothing. Virtually nothing on husband, who I thought is blind. She has been tight with US MIL through her FOX career.
Yes, I think she’s watched, but hot on the trail. FBI brought her in for questioning concerning her reporting on Chinese scientist. I believe Herridge exposed the female scientist who was tied to Chinese MIL. Catherine didn’t stand for that.
Attorneys appealed to judge to make her pay for her refusal to reveal source(s). That’s as far as i read. Catherine is interesting. The CBS move was odd. There are gaps that intrigue. Harvard? Columbia? Gor a little ole journalism degree? I dunno. Late marriage to MIL man? Interesting.
The Wiki states that the husband was a pilot. He’s pictured in images found online in a red ball cap. That’s symbolic of the USAF’s construction/engineering branch, known as Red Horse. Hayes might have been a pilot and moved up or down in his career to the Red Horse position.
Some military career positions will slow one’s promotion track, and others will accelerate promotions.
I just quickly skimmed a few sources to be able to comment. With some modest effort, a lot more data could be vacuumed up about her husband.

I made no comment about Herridge. I like her.
I only opinioned about the supposition of her husband.
Back in the Iran-Contra days, Marine Lt. Col. Oliver North called himself “a telephone” colonel.
Lt. Cols are incorrectly called Col. as a matter of convenience and acceptance.
However, when on the phone, they have to Id themselves correctly as Lt. Col., as they don’t know who they are talking with.
The military has an up or out rule...too long in rank or passed over too many times for promotion and you are “asked” to leave.
I had a friend of mine who was a Lt. Col in the U.S.M.C. and had to leave because he couldn’t get billeted, i.e. no more places to go.
Thru the years Herridge’s hubby has been referred to as Lt. Col. - from 2004 to 2022 is too long in rank.
There just isn’t enuff info on him to make any supposition.
