When it did happen, it increased the purchasing power of most households resulting in more jobs. I don't know what you're trying to prove with that, but that happened long before the late 90s, which is the time when these free trade deals were signed.
Gator and I live in two burbs that are favored destinations for H1-Bs in North Texas: Irving/Valley Ranch and Frisco. Going to Walmart is like going to a market in Mumbai. Assimilation has been declining IMO. Our school district is now 60% South Asian.

The all in tax and regulatory burden on full time jobs is insane. It is the GREAT job killer. It has nothing to do with consumer habits. It accelerates automation and outsourcing.
