One item that doesn’t need canning. My brother and I have been gifting each other the same cheap fruitcake for the last 35 years. It was a cheap one we bought at Arbor Drugs for about $1.00. I’ll be getting it back this year and it will probably sit at my house for ten months until I figure out how to open it.
We’ve used some interesting gift wrapping. Welded boxes, concrete, solid Plaster of Paris.
I’m thinking a roll of barbed wire for him next year. Maybe razor ribbon.
We havent’ managed to destry the fruitcake yet.

My brother-in-law gave me a second hand store battery powder powered tie rack... I saved that thing for 10 years in the box and then gift wrapped it one Christmas and sent it back. He got a chuckle out of that one.
