It’s a fine line to walk, but the satirists have to craft a piece with at least one element so conspicuously outlandish, that no reasonable person could possibly believe it’s serious, and thus, avoid a libel claim.
The BB usually does this near the end of an article, pulling the unwary reader along with open mouth just to reveal the joke at the end of the piece. Now, they are much less apt to be accused of libel when even the jokes come true.
