Threats of bodily harm are illegal. Contact a lawyer snd ask fior help pressing criminal charges. Document everything. The local authorities may blow you off so be sure to let everyone know you’re taking names and keeping notes.

He shouldn’t have even mentioned this incident. Just pretend he was totally ignoring it, then anonymously apply a bit of the ol’ Latin American “Ajuste de Cuentas”, with no evidence of his own involvement. Works well here...
