If Fred Astaire’s brain short circuited every 10 seconds or so, you’d have a rough approximation of these utterly awful dancers. Their interpretation of the Nutcracker was in name only; it could have been any atonal mishmash. Their costumes were taken from the trash bins of 50 years of high school plays, and their facial expressions resembled people having a colonoscopy. It was just bloody awful in every way, and we the taxpayers are on the hook for whatever that shanda cost.

It was there, but barely recognizable. It was as though they thought that the Tchaikovsky estate would sue them for what they did. Nothing of E.T.A Hoffman’s story survived.
