Oh my, western liberals are mad that Japanese celebrate Christmas, especially with a cancel culture figure such as Colonel Sanders.

I was u Der the impression that Japanese serve birthday cake on Christmas. No context. Just the cake. Perhaps passe now

It was a brilliant marketing move by KFC in the early 80s. Christmas=American, KFC= American, and you can get a discount KFC meal with little perks if you reserve ahead of time.
And hanshin tigers won the pennant this year, so the colonels curse has lifted.

The lighting illuminations there make our best look crude.

The story I want to read/hear about is the Japanese family that is treated to a real, traditional, American Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner. Nothing more over-the-top than what a traditional holiday meal already is compared to a good, evening dinner at home. Then get their reaction afterwards. Especially if they did the KFC thing for fun.

First, KFC is better than most Japanese food. Second, they love Christmas. Third, despite some prejudice against non-Japanese, especially Americans, they love American food and culture. It is a curious mix. I was last there in 1996-1997.
The same goes for many of the 50 countries around the world that I've visited.

Well it is someone’s birthday after all. :) When I was a kid, my mother at her Christmas party had a birthday cake saying,"Happy Birthday Jesus", I cringed at the time, but now I say God bless her soul.

OFC chicken = overpriced chicken = not really chicken.
But, hey. If you’re a member of a protected group, it’s free. Just pass your bill back to the nearest taxpayer in the line.
