If a citizen were to “deal with” a criminal by themselves — the cops would be on that one right quick. Big trouble for helpful citizen.

In May, I caught a former tenant in my driveway with most of my tools and a window air conditioner from my garage in his pickup. He was so loaded on meth that he fell asleep. I called the cops. When they arrived, they asked, "What do you want us to do?"

He had unloaded my garage but hadn't left my driveway. They suggested that I unload the truck. Cool. I'm a disabled vet with a horrible back, but that's what I had to do. The cops left and didn't do a thing.

I had to go get a restraining order.

If I were one of their cop buddies, they would have taken action...and I told them that.
