He has received numerous teaching awards, including the National Teacher of the Year award by the American College of Physicians in 2017.

A world renowned expert in the management of sepsis, Dr. Marik’s contributions to the understanding and management of hemodynamics, nutritional intervention, and supportive care practices in sepsis have transformed critical care throughout the world.
