Yes, I am hopeful for just that! In my area, the board members of a 6-county organization will soon be meeting to decide on disaffiliation from the state/national organization. They will also choose a new name that does NOT include “republican.”
We are a grassroots organization, supporting small government, lower taxes, free market capitalism, a strong defense, the right to life, the 2nd Amendment, etc. Hopefully, the disaffiliation and name change will appeal to other like-minded folks who also attend these government meetings and we, the people, will strongly unite to drive out the blatant, local corruption, including “anti-business/pro-cronyism public servants.”
👌 Yes, that is how I see the emergence of the Republican Party to squeeze the Whigs into the dark corners of history. Grass roots + a new dynamic 'action' leader {Abraham Lincoln > Donald Trump} -- which led to a 'civil war', thanks to the same Demo'Rats ready to fight to entrap us into their newer version of slavery - Marxism/globalism.
Those who cannot learn from history are doomed to repeat it❗
