Wondering why all these very wealthy men live to be 90+.
My favorite scene was the improvised scene when Archie goes off on Meathead for putting on a sock and a shoe, and a sock and a shoe.
Can you blame him, what kind of meathead does that.
Sounds like something a Commie would do.
I remember watching when Meathead brought home horsemeat for Edith to cook. He tried to convince everyone that it was healthier than beef or something like that.
Archie came barreling through the door from work, taking off his coat and hat and while hanging them up, called out “Edith, I am so hungry I could eat a horse!”
They couldn’t even continue for a few minutes because the audience was screaming with laughter!
Carol O’Connor’s acting in that scene was brilliant.
I saw that episode. I always wondered if the draft dodger was played by a young Harold Ramis. He bore a resemblance.
FINALLY
still cant find the original, unedited version of that scene....man, Archie got pissed. O’Connor was amazing to watch....
In Lear’s case, and Leftists like him, I believe God is trying to give them ample time to repent of their hate and sins. I hope for his sake that he finally did that and accepted the Lord’s kindness and mercy.
Only the good die young... Lear must have been one hell of an SOB.
Or when the two black robbers were in the house and Meathead tried to explain in liberal gobbledygook how Archie “was”
Oh look, they say in unison A LIBBER ALLLLLLLLLL
there are so many...
Gloria buys a wig, and Mike REALLY likes it...
Edith answers an ad in a SWINGERS magazine....seems the first 5 seasons, the show was outstanding. Then, for some reason they got new writers...and it just got stupid. Archies character suddenly became whiney, kinda sniveling...wasn’t the same...
Someone put Rob Reiner on Kleenex Watch.
Don’t forget Punchy De Niro!
Ooops, My bad.
‘only the good die young’
I was a very young Child at the time, but it was noticeable to even me. TV "comedy" got very preachy leftist. MASH and Happy Days went down the toilet at the same time.
What then replaced it was low brow "tits and ass" - shows like Three's Company, the Love Boat, etc....
Its why I hated Jimmy Carter, even as an 8 year old - he represented the decline of interesting and non-political TV.
Have you considered that they may have died of a broken heart (or a guilty conscience for the ways they promosted wrongthink) after the October 7 massacre and its toxic aftermath?
Many of the Borscht Belt comedians lived into their 90s.
