No, solar is inherently uneconomical compared to fossil fuel and nuclear, at current rates, especially if you factor in the cost of land acquisition, and energy storage.

After a huge amount of upfront money is spent
And you have power part of the time.
And with rooftop solar, they screw lag bolts through your shingles raising risk for leaks .

The house I bought came with leased solar. I am in Phoenix, which is as good as it gets for solar efficiency. I have 13 years left on the lease, and I just about break-even on savings vs. the $98 payment I make every month to Tesla, a big corporation.
