An American woman has been killed by a shark while paddleboarding in the Bahamas, according to the Royal Bahamas Police Force.
The woman was paddleboarding with a male relative near the back of the Sandals resort, about three-quarters of a mile out to sea, when she was attacked, police said.
A lifeguard responded on a rescue boat, police said. CPR was administered but the injuries to the right side of her body were too severe, police said.

This has the MO of a tiger shark. Bull sharks attack and bite at anything without provocation. Reef sharks, not so much. Tiger sharks are known to attack people in order to eat them. Paddle boards are big, and most people stand up to paddle them.
I was on a beach in Sicily and my buddy took a paddle board so far out I lost sight of him. Oh well, I thought, how am I going to explain this to the authorities. Fortunately he came back... but I was really worried for awhile there... thought he was on his way to Africa.

Yes, this was a very nasty and aggressive shark to go after a paddleboarder. It's a terrible shame, the woman was just married a day or so ago.
