When Russia was transporting men and machines through Belarus to attack northern Ukraine, it was reported the railway workers were making these movements difficult. Perhaps the same thing is happening in Russia. Certainly some of the photos of burning Russian military sites are being photographed by someone and getting to where we can see them. I wonder if Putin would have the nerve to ban all cell phones and confiscate them from the people???
Could someone please translate these UAH figures for pensions, child support, etc. into US dollars. As given it sounds like people are getting a fairly good deal. However, I suspect we do not have an exchange of 1 UAH to 1 US$, and I suspect they are getting less than it looks like with just numbers being shown.

I guess you missed the important comments explaining that Putin is spending 1/3rd his total GDP on paying for this war. On the other hand we have been spending about 5 or 6% of our total military budget supporting Ukraine in this war. Sounds like quite a bargain to keep Russia from getting crazy ambitious.

On 30 November 2022, the eighth meeting of the EU-Ukraine Association Committee in Trade Configuration (ACTC) took place. The Ukrainian delegation was headed by Taras Kachka, Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine and Trade Representative of Ukraine, and the EU delegation was represented by Léon Delvaux, Acting Director of the Directorate-General for Trade responsible for Neighbouring Countries, Industry, Goods, Regulatory Cooperation and Public Procurement.
The main results of the meeting were as follows:
1. the Parties adopted joint Decisions of the EU-Ukraine Association Committee in Trade Configuration on a positive assessment of the implementation of Phase 1 and Phase 2 of Annex XXI-A to Chapter 8 of the Association Agreement between Ukraine, on the one hand, and the European Union, the European Atomic Energy Community and their Member States, on the other hand;
2. Discussed the progress in the implementation by the parties of the Priority Action Plan for the Implementation of the EU-Ukraine Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area for 2023-2024;
3. Determined further steps towards the conclusion of the Agreement on Conformity Assessment and Acceptance of Industrial Products (ACAA);
4. Summarized the results of the meetings of the Subcommittees on Sanitary and Phytosanitary Management, Geographical Indications, Trade and Sustainable Development;
5. Discussed sensitive issues of bilateral trade relations.
