The appeal is Federal jobs and contracting with Feds. Big money—ot attracts a lot of people.
That’s about it.
Problem is, the cost of living in DC is so high, that big salary which sounds like a lot ends up not going as far as some might think.
Add in the traffic, crime, the politics, the poor quality of life....I can see why people leave after a few years.
