Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow warning for low temperatures and ice throughout the country in the coming hours.
The warning comes into place at 5pm this evening and will remain in effect until midday tomorrow.
Temperatures are expected to fall to below –3 degrees in many areas with the resulting frost and ice leading to difficult traveling conditions.
In Northern Ireland the Met Office has issued a Yellow Ice warning for Antrim, Down and Derry between 5pm today and 10am tomorrow.
Meanwhile, Met Éireann has also issued a Status Yellow low temperature warning for tomorrow evening into Saturday.
The very cold conditions will result in widespread frost along with fog and freezing fog. …

We are all familiar with Yellow Snow warnings. Is this the same?
I briefly dated a redhead with last name “Antrim” in college many, many (MANY) years ago. I didn’t know there was an Irish town of the same name.
Only way to find out is if we send fur trappers, strictly from commercial, to use lead pipes on baby seals.
It’s late fall. Freezes happen. -3 c is upper 20s F.
There’s a whole county of that name. It’s in the northeastern corner of the island. The Giant’s Causeway is there, a couple of miles from Bushmills.
Even so, the Irish Sea is boiling.
Don’t eat the yellow snow
First thing I thought of.
In other words, have your dog piss on the grass and not the sidewalk.
-3C (~27F) is *very cold*?

This could be particularly tough on migrants from warmer places.
Climate change is a hate crime.
They have to warn all of the desert people they’ve let in.

The coldest temperature Ireland should expect is -12 C, or 10 degrees F. This is similar to South Carolina.
