After all, a "like" is no proof of liking anything -- many people click 'like' idly without too much thought

Here on FR, I don't click on the thread titles because I don't want everything lit up red as a previously read link. I click on the "x of y" post to get to a single post and then page up to the beginning to read it all.

Still, sometimes my fingers quiver or the mouse slips and I end up clicking on something I didn't mean to, and then it's recorded for all time.

I'm not on Twitter or Facebook so I don't deal with "likes" but I can see how someone can accidentally click on something they didn't mean to because their finger twitched or they fat-palmed the touch-pad that moved the curser somewhere else when they accidentally double-tapped on the screen.

Nowadays, that's a jailable offense.
