If there's any doubt that the creatures currently persecuting President Trump through the courts are less after him than they are us, prosecutor Jack Smith provides the assurances.
Here's his latest stunt:
It's as outrageous a demand as any ever seen in an outrageous case, with horrible implications for Constitutional protections and freedom itself in the U.S.
If this creep gets what he wants, that means everyone who ever clicked "like" on a tweet by President Trump during his years in office now has become a legal target, a dossier, a part of some database, easily searched for easy pinning for whatever the plug-in-the-crime this Vishinsky-wannabe can come up with. U.S. citizens will have no legal protections.
This sounds so Soviet it can't be real. But of course, it is, and it tells us a lot about the low quality of Smith's case and what it's about.
After all, a "like" is no proof of liking anything -- many people click 'like' idly without too much thought or else use the 'like' button to be able to come back to the tweet for whatever reason, a easy bookmark of sorts, a quick substitute for the more cumbersome, multi-click bookmark function on the platform. Maybe they 'like' the negative comments -- it simply offers no proof that they liked the tweet or agreed with it.

Probably just a nice thorough tax audit.
Yep.
Think of the scale - they have asked Twitter to make a list of EVERY TIME someone liked or forwarded a tweet from Trump.
Twitter has 500 million tweets PER DAY!!
How many people does DOJ have working on this case to review all this? How much time/resources at Twitter (X) needed to meet this request?
Is this just a punishment directed at Musk/Twitter for their “free speech” stand?
America’s DOJ is PURE - Gestapo / KGB. Truly dangerous.
I think Lara Logan’s tweet summed it up.
Wrong. We do. It's called the 1st and 2nd Amendments, just to start - and it's just a question of having the ballz to use the latter. Thanks, Monica Showalter, but I don't need your dumb azz trying to defend, rationalize, or explain my "likes" on social media. This is clear tyranny.
Jack Smith is the poster child of a coward with power he’s another flunky like Biden and party.
why not get it over with and just announce that if you voted for Trump, you will be arrested.
The subpoena included “all other content, records, and other information”, for “all users who followed, unfollowed, muted, unmuted, blocked, or unblocked”, Trump.
Additionally: “all lists of Twitter users who have favorited or retweeted tweets posted by [Trump], as well as all tweets that include”, Trump’s username, such as ‘mentions’ or ‘replies’).
As of May 2020, that was over 87 million accounts just for those who followed Trump.
And the Left calls the Right “Fascists” Ho Ho Ho.....
let’s see Jack Smith’s browser history since the first time he ever logged onto the net.
I’d like to know why Jack Smith and ilk like him haven’t been strung up yet.
So is the government limited in any way from using the data they received from Twitter for the likely 100 million accounts on issues or fishing exercises unrelated to the grounds for this subpoena?
Perhaps there are limits, but I am unaware of them. Can any lawyers chime in?
Hi.
Since the FBI monitors this forum, I’d like to tell Jack Smith that I have never liked or retweeted president Trump’s posts on Twitter or Truth Social.
But if I we’re on Twitter or Truth Social I would commit that “crime.”

Not only do I think that the FBI monitors this forum, I think they post violent comments and try to get you to post that you agree. I had someone post to me that the ultimate violent act should be done to Joe Biden (I am not going to type in the act that was suggested) and followed by asking “don’t you think he deserves it?” Everyone needs to watch out for being tricked or goaded into a felony. Even joking about something violent could be enough.
This is presented as something under consideration, but that does not appear to be correct. This is just the release of a redacted version of a subpoena from quite a while ago.
The judge included a gag order against Twitter blocking them from telling anyone, and Twitter protested and was fined $350,000 dollars for contempt. Twitter appealed on multiple grounds - including their free speech and Trumps potential executive privilege (since the order also includes private and unsent/draft messages), but the Appeals court confirmed her rulings, and Twitter appears to have already turned the data over on what appears to be about 100 million or so users.
(dunno what "erp" is, don't care)
Yeah, especially the ones C***s like you called “mean”. Luved ‘em.
I need to learn how to do middle toes.
We need an “I am Spartacus” moment here. Musks needs to create a way for everyone to retroactively sign up to X with a date before 2016 and then ‘like’ all Trump Tweets since then.
Yeah all of them.
