Are you of the understanding that the timing of the Rapture is as a response to our actions, rather than an unknown deadline of God’s choosing?
Many evangelicals have been almost pretrified about the Rapture since I began studying it (more than 50 years), and many charlatan preachers have abused it as a way of filling their coffers. Many have been consumed because they were led to believe that their salvation somehow depends on it, so they spend an inordinate amount of time obsessed with it. It is a form of “fire insurance” for many. Now as comparison, wouldn’t you do everything in your power to prevent a fire, even though you have insurance? Many have the attitude, “well, I have my salvation covered, so I can do whatever the hell I want, and leave the suckers behind when I catch the ‘rapture plane’ to escape this mess”. My point is that as it is taught “Only the Father in heaven knows the day and hour of his coming”, so why not spend your time focusing on what you can do BEFORE He comes? Time is short. Why don’t we expend all of our energy focusing on what we can do to prepare, rather than delaying everything until he comes? That is what I am speaking about.
