“Mark Cuban bought Mavericks for $285 million, now worth $2.7 billion
August 1, 2022”
So roughly speaking, Cuban will get 1.4 billion dollars or more. Why would Mrs Adelson buy a sportsball team? I don’t get it.

Rumor is Cuban would have minority ownership of Las Vegas’ Mavs franchise along with operational control. Then, when Dallas is awarded an expansion team he would become the owner of the new team. So he’ll be double-dipping on NBA franchises, but likely giving up the operational control of Las Vegas once Dallas’ new team goes live.

The article refers to Cuban as the team's "governor" as opposed to the owner, which is what he is. Amazing how firmly wokeness has entrenched itself that the term "owner" is considered "problematic" (at least since 2020).
If people cannot draw a distinction between owning a business entity or a franchise and the suggestion that an owner of the team "owns" individuals, then we have gone completely off the rails.
