I think the first spectacular failure will be in Germany during a prolonged spell of bitter cold. But, it could happen in New York.

There have been many dire warnings of an energy crisis due to reliance on renewables. As of yet, except for the Texas freeze, it hasn’t happened. We need a big black out to wake people up.

It could happen in Texas. Texas created this non-elected energy commission to manage their transition to green energy. This new commission is all powerful and much like the old Texas Railroad Commision. It was this Energy Commission that was responsible for the disastrous black out during a winter storm, a few years ago.

What happened was this commission ordered the natural gas fired power plants to shut down before the storm was due to hit. They were going to test their system. Natural gas powered plants take time to both shut down and restart. You cannot just throw a switch and turn them back on. That is why ARCO closed down the solar farms that they built in Texas ( the ones BP refurbished and re-opened) ARCO announced that solar energy was just not reliable 100% of the time and natural gas is. Wind is not as reliable as either and is not even reliable as a back source of power. CA has switched to diesel powered electrical plants as they’re back up to solar because it can be started up in a matter of days. So much for 100% green energy.
