Yes, the Army’s Air Force or Air Corps, the “Air Force’ did not exist.

But they are requesting Air Force footage from WWII. WWII ended in late 1945 and the Air Force didn’t come into being until late 1947, a little over 2 years later.

The AAC was an army based force and was among other branches like the marines and navy that had aircraft decades before. The two main reasons the AF was not made into a single entity was money because of funding during the depression and later problems with coordination with the Army Central Command. They didn’t actually get those problems covered until late in WWII.

So it may be symatics, but if they are trying to be factual looking for a group that does this, they might need to understand when things actually became what they are looking for.
