This is a tough problem, if people get political.
We, the conservatives of Free Republic, are among the most conservative of conservatives in America.
And many of us have people in our group of family and friends who are more liberal than we are. So it does become a struggle, if the more liberal people in our social circles start spewing out liberal pablum. Do we do point/counter point discussions with them, just let it go like water off a duck’s back when they spew out their nonsense, or what do we do?
My response was "THIS CONVERSATION IS OVER !!!" and I hung up, went to Contacts in My Phone and BLOCKED CALLS for her and her commie husband. I have just deleted any emails, cards, letters and anything else from her/him. I ignore the fazebook posts, no Holiday calls- NOTHING !!!
he's tried via several of his multiple emails to get Me to contact her, he's tried to give Us first option on her minivan when they replaced it by email to My Wife and She just replied don't need it and She's not getting involved on My Disowning Method.
The solution to shitlib rhetoric at the Thanksgiving table is simple. Use said rhetoric spouter’s nose to plow another furrow or two in the garden. Frozen ground? So much the better.

As I stated I don’t associate with liberals, even family members. That being said whenever a liberal brings up a subject you counter punch as hard as you can with facts. Be brutal, emphasize emotions are irrelevant in any argument and NEVER apologize. That usually sends them running off crying because you won’t deal with their emotions.
It’s that simple to me but if you have to be around them for whatever reason tell them NO POLITICS and to STFU or leave.
