I notice the deceptive phrasing and attempted equivelence.
1. Russia is conscripting men. Ukraine is conscripting women too, apparently.
2. Russia is conscripting young men. Ukraine is conscripting men up to age 60.
3. These facts reek of desperation by Ukraine. Yet the Zeeper crowd here at Free Republic (UMCRevMom@aol.com, SpeedyInTexas, PIF and their hangers on) continue to post daily claims that the Ukrainians are winning and kicking the butts of the "Ruzzians". It's becoming even more obvious that these claims are total lies.
4. Others have pointed out elsewhere (Simplicius on Substack for instance) that many of the Russian casualties have been born by ex-coonvicts which Wagner Group was famously full of. Another large component of the Russian force are the men of the Donbass, now part of the Russian army. Average Russians in Moscow aren't feeling the brunt of this war.
5. Ukraine has lost 1/5th of her territory to Russian control. Russia has lost no terroritory to Ukraine.
6. The rest of Ukraine has seen massive damage to infrastructure, especially the power grid. That effects the entire country. Most of the huge territory of Russia has seen no impact from the war. Moscow is virtually untouched.
7, Russia is not losing the war. They are winning it. Your characterization is false. Even the neocons and other American war hawks (WSJ editorial page, the CFR, the Economist, etc.) are admitting this inconvenient fact finally.
In summary: your statement was artfully phrased to convey misleading information and create false equivelence. It is nothing more than additional tiresome Zeeper propaganda.
To answer your question directly I do feel bad for anyone conscripted to fight in this war on either side. I fault the politicians and leaders on all sides for this wretched war and hope it ends soon. I am particularly sad over the demographic destruction of Ukraine, which may end up being irreversable.
