Yup. I get what he's saying, but his concern can be taken care of very easily by just letting the steak rest outside of the fridge until it's no longer chilled - no need to ruin the steak by microwaving it for even a few minutes to warm it up.

That’s what I like to do, but with all the kneading and pounding, it gets close if I don’t pull it out of the fridge in time.
