In my opinion, every capital policeman who was there that day should be fired.
Even if they were just following orders.
Even if they only stood by and watched.
Even if they only kept silent during the committee testimony.
And Byrd should be given the same sentence as Chauvin.
I watched the entire video of the J6 cop body cam. Having been involved in multiple, regional, planning sessions during the Summer of Love, I learned a lot. The guys I worked with were far better trained, better equipped, and much better supplied...and had much better leadership and rules of engagement.

Arrested too. And Chauvin should be pardoned. He didn’t kill Floyd.
The issue is that the Capitol Police are a 'hospitality police', security guards. There is no Constitutional basis for a Congressional police enforcement arm, a 'riot police.' Nancy Pelosi had visions of grandeur; that is why she turned down the obvious legal alternative: the National Guard offered by Prez Trump.
This is exactly the way the Nazi SS got started. Remember, following the Jan 06 sham, the Capitol Police were to start a national intelligence unit to spy on citizen unrest, starting in Florida. Fortunately circumstances truncated Pelosi's Constitutional coup. For my part, I notified Governor DeSantis of this illegal plot and he moved to block it.
We have lost our way and are too easily seduced into thinking it a natural development for the Capitol Police to become a national enforcement arm. Pelosi's ploy was an unconstitutional grab for power. All those Capitol Police should be read their rights!
