Leftist leaders have destroyed the economy in Argentina. I hope there are enough pieces to put some of it back together.

Hopefully he’s successful. We could use a libertarian President in the US.

As late as 1930, Argentina was considered a wealthy country, perhaps wealthier than the United States, per capita.

Great news. He’s got four years at least to do what he can with that pathetic mess down there.

If he installs a culture where hard work is rewarded, without criminal graft, he should succeed over time.

He may well help the economy; but if he ignores the social issues, that country will eventually continue its downhill slide.

Not just Argentina but most of South America has the same potential as North America in terms of natural resources, economic growth potential, etc. Unfortunately most of the nations there are third world crapholes due to the socialist type governments (the kind of government Leftists here want to bring to USA).
Javier Milei could be as pivotal a historical figure as Donald Trump. Both men have strong populist views and do not care one bit about the "elite" and what the "elite" have to say about them.

Being a libertarian IS NOT "far right"
These people are political idiots.
You can't call the far right fascists and then turn around and call libertarians 'far right'. Libertarians are anti-authoritiarian!

I was in Argentina once on a mountain climbing trip. I was there for about a month in 1996 so it was before the economic crash. I thought it was an amazing place.

I can understand why anyone who isn’t a libertarian might make that mistake. However, many libertarians just want liberty, and to be left alone, particularly by government, but they do think government, or at least civil order, has a place. Not only should you be free to do what you want, so long as you aren’t harming or taking from anyone, but you are also free not to be harmed or stolen from. That is a HUGE difference from anarchy.

It means election fraud has been quite operational and successful in America.

Fascists are not on the right.
They are just a version of Leftism.
Calling Fascist right wing has been a very successful bit of Orwellian labeling.

To Democrat/Communists, an individual's position on the political spectrum distills to two locations:
-- Anything to the right of "Left" is "far Right"; and,
-- A person can never be "too far Left"
This comports with the Democrat/Communist Left's two basic tenets:
-- Reality is an opinion; what is real depends completely on an individual's political perspective; and,
-- Truth is not a value on the Left; "truth" is nearly always distorted by "facts".

<< it’s somewhat comical that many of the “let’s use state power to punish our enemies” folks in the US have celebrated Milei’s rise as if he were one of them. >>
The author is deluded. The overwhelming majority of the “let’s use state power to punish our enemies” types (aka, fascists) in the U.S. are Democrats, and they most certainly aren’t celebrating Milei’s victory.
