For a long time I was agnostic about transgenders. I accepted they had a severe mental illness and were dealing with it in their own way.

Today I am repulsed and disgusted by them since they have become so ‘in your face’ and demanding everyone accept them as the gender they want to be recognized as rather than the gender they are.

Living a lie doesn’t change the facts. Demanding others accept their fantasy with them is simply unacceptable. That might work in their small circle of “friends, family, and acquaintances but not in the real world.

For me this all began with the 1973 decision by the American Psychiatric Association (APA) to remove homosexuality as a mental disorder from the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM). The attacks on psychiatrists and physiologists eventually allowed a third of APA’s 17,000 plus membership to approve removal.

After this decision, activists targeted leading individual researchers such as Dr. David Reuben, and Masters and Johnson to ensure perpetual sanctity for the APA action. Psychology and Psychiatry chose to relinquish any attempt at scientific rigor for popular societal and political acclaim. Their DSM became a refuge for drug marketing brochures and political manifestos.
