Skiing and Snowboarding in North Central Washington
As winter approaches, it’s time to dust off your snow gear and prepare to hit the slopes. North Central Washington has a variety of locations to enjoy downhill skiing and snowboarding, each offering unique views and diverse terrain.
Mission Ridge
Conveniently located just 12 miles from downtown Wenatchee is the Mission Ridge Ski and Board Resort. The Ridge’s 2,000 acres of sunny Central Washington dry snow has been a Wenatchee favorite for generations. With spectacular views of town and the Columbia River, the Ridge is the place to be on a sunny powder day!
Opening day was November 19th and lift tickets are available online. Visit www.missionridge.com to plan your trip–and check out their webcams to see the rare views of Central Washington from atop the ridge!

“Be sure to get to the Olympic Peninsula, too. Magnificent mountains over there and some VERY wet rainforest nearby, too.”
I will second that. Very wet rainforest, huge trees, big ferns, you can imagine Bigfoot living there. Many years ago made it into the National Park just at sundown. Saw huge Elke moving across fallen huge logs like they were nothing
We visited the Olympic Peninsula and the National Park on our 2021 trip. Bucket list stuff, no doubt.
Bummed to hear about the Hurricane Ridge Lodge burning. Glad we got to see it on our trip.
“Hurricane Ridge Lodge burning”
Oh no, I did not know that. That was the very first place I skied when I moved to the West Coast in 1973. What a tragedy.
