It wasn’t reported dead. It was captured, but only on camera which shows it slithering away.

I’m guessing the python was captured, but some liberal DA released it without bond. Probably an automatic response on the DA’s part.

Two snakes were referenced in the article. One was dead. The other was from another encounter and it slithered away.
