How is a car with a gas tank with less than one gallon of gas a "hybrid"?

Because even those who buy economy cars demand "performance", I imagine that the Camry can only go about 20 miles on a full tank.

A true hybrid would give you as much range on gas as on battery.

Is the car truly equipped with such a tiny tank? If so, that is surely a stupid move on Toyota’s part. Oh well, I can’t afford one anyway. I suppose this was done in an effort to keep the weight down. There’s a better way & Toyota used it for years.
