What a waste of time THAT was. A mob of retro white people, cops, kids etc in a 1950s setting, chasing, beating, and abusing a black guy.

What is the point of that song when reality is that 99% of the time when a single person of one race is chased down by a mob of another, it’s blacks chasing a white or asian?

Odd post.

The point is that most of it is blowback that goes back 200 years. The rest of the world outside Africa has moved on since slavery was abolished; America is making some progress but still has a long way to go.

BULLSHIT.... the rest of the world has moved on from slavery and racism, but ONLY America has so far to go?

Explain to me why by every objective measure black Americans were massively more free and successful in the 1960s? In education, employment, intact families, fathers in the homes, freedom from crime and gangs.... you name it.
Canadian, you have a very warped view of America, and of the rest of the world.

Honest question, then I’m exiting this thread:

If you found the video so offensive, why did you watch it beyond the first thirty seconds?

FRegards,
Squawk

I do not like to make snap judgements. I was waiting for some redeeming quality, which turned out to be absent. All I saw was more “evil America” gaslighting.

For all I knew, the video may start that way, then fast forward to the countless black depredations today against lone whites. Maybe as some sort of statement or lesson to today’s people. Lessons could have gone many directions.

It could have been creative.

They address that in a sideways manner in their other videos. One of their videos, also in French subtitled with the lyrics in English, targets French society. The English title directly translates as “A French Summer”. Another video, “Our Celebrations”, doesn’t even need translation; it is an animated video that takes the viewer through most of the West’s post-cold war era, warts and all. My personal favourite is “Kimono in an Ambulance” from 2014; they started with a 5-minte song an used it ass the basis for a short film that serves as a cautionary tale about first-world youth party/drug culture among the middle class. All are easily available on YouTube; just search “Indochine” and open anything with “Clip Officiel” in the title.

As with anything in life, context matters.

FRegards
Squawk

I should’ve posted some of their other videos first. My bad.
