“I postulate AI-powered micromanagement in your day-to-day life, which is a far worse scenario.”
Excellent thread post. But perspective is everything. I think many of us are already kind of used to this perspective coming from a biological source...
Every married male can relate and is already well practiced at dealing with complete micromanagement against our will.

I know, I get it. Just had to relate it. I have been preaching what you shared for a long time now. I find it humorous that everyone is talking about being hauled off to Gulags.
When the reality will be exactly what you shared. We will just simply be incarcerated and micromanaged in our own homes and lives from the time we wake up until we are told to go to sleep, just like being married...
No need for an internment camp, our very lives will literally be internment. And if you resist they will divorce you, take you for everything you got, and throw you out on the curb... Sound familiar?

Pssst...it was the dentist. Interesting....ever since my last dental appointment, I've been hearing John Lennon's "Give Peace a Chance" over and over in my head.

Leaders are becoming few and far between , what we have are micromanagers who are copwardply, invasive, bullies, who thinl they are better than anyone they manage.Renedy? A swift kick to the groin.

Agreed. AI could do to humans what grow towers have done to vegetables.
Who will put up with that in America, Maybe in China but not here.
IMagine a virus pack that can confuse AI so badly that it self destructs.
Maybe we are working on that already.

Very thought provoking. My friend’s girlfriend in Hong Kong is perfectly fine with being monitored by the communist chinese government saying the people “have to be monitored” so everyone will do “what’s right,” never stopping to question who or what decides what is right.
END ALL IMMIGRATION NOW.

D'ya think Americans will have the stomach to resist?

Makes sense too. The freedom to move around the day yard is all.

Terrifying story Laz.
And the worst part is, that there are human beings who would love to have the level of total control described in your story, over all humanity.

Curiously, a writer I greatly respect has seen my work and has told me my fiction writing skill exceeds my editorial writing skill. He seemed to indicate I should pursue it.
I take that as a compliment. I may need to do significantly more fiction writing, especially sci-fi.

I’m thinking my next fiction piece should center around these two (rather outlandish) premises:
What if Biden didn’t have dementia?
What if Obama loved America?
... or have I gone too far? Are these too preposterous?
