Youtube, about battery range, for new battery cars.

(Range keeps increasing, cost keeps dropping, they keep getting lighter, and now you start to see COMPETITION in the market to fix batteries, rather than replacing the whole battery rig.)

Cheaper, and cheaper.

Of course not.

The car burns up long before replacing the battery is necessary.

You’re beating a dead horse.
Most EV fanatics won’t want to drive one for 10+ years.
Used or rebuilt batteries won’t result in many used EV sales.

He mentioned that one

In fact a vast majority of “ev” fires, are in fact because of hybrid engine cars.

You know, with gas power and lots of electricity.

Actual EV fires are much, much rarer.

At least that is what he said. 😎

Don’t start pushing electric vehicles like a leftist tool.

You already have a murky history in Free Republic.

Questionable.

I was the THIRD FReeper to post on Donald Trump.

Way before he came down the escalator.

He quotes from Consumer Reports - who recently came out and said the gov’t mandates for MPG were not good enough. Consumer Reports is not your friend.

The guy in the video looks like a freakin lizard. Of course its the evil ‘oil industry’ that puts out all this misinformation, and we don’t want to be like them cuz we’re smart and stuff.

I agree with you.
Tell me why half our population wants to enslave the other half when there is no personal gain for doing so

Never mind all the earth that needs to be moved to get at the cobalt.

Electric car tires wear out fast.

Hope you’re not inside the car when it decides to burst into flames.

Don’t have one in Florida during Hurricane.

We have cold winters. Electric cars will be pretty much useless up here.

The cost of electricity will go up for everybody.

California and Texas with their brownouts. Which will spread.

There is no way I would buy a used EV.

From reading the comments here is sounds like the guy if full of bull crap. Kind of the snopes for EV’s. Hybrids don’t even come close to having the same battery power and there is no reason for them to be more susceptible to fire.

Sure there is (at least it seems to me)

Hybrids have a full gas engine (which is flammable) in the same place they have an electric engine.

With a big battery.

Gas, and a big battery.

Together in one car...

So what. All Ice cars have a gas engine and a battery. One does not effect the other. Only ignorant people could be convinced that it would on any considerable scale. Either of those elements could be the cause of a fire.

I'm waiting for the combination ICE, EV, and Hydrogen engine.

That'll blow REAL GOOD!

I almost had a fire in my gas car one day.

It was leaking gas out of the carborator, right out into the engine.

I stopped. 😅

“The cost of electricity will go up for everybody”.

How many batteries are replaced using their auto insurance? (Insurance that we are ALL forced to pay for).

The evolution of internal combustion engines has not reached its logical end. The end of the line is nowhere in sight, except for the drive train R & D engineers who boldly assume that time has run out for continuous improvements in terms of quality and performance. Real car guys wouldn’t be jumping to such foregone conclusions. John DeLorean was a real car guy...Carroll Shelby was a real car guy...Don Yenko was a real car guy...The Dodge Bros. were real car parts guys...Elon Musk is not a real car guy, even though Tesla is a real car company...Mary Barra is not a car guy and she isn’t “too cute to fail” anymore...The gals on The View aren’t car guys...
