ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Less than 24 hours before Michigan football kicks off against Penn State, the Big Ten has suspended Jim Harbaugh as part of the ongoing the sign-stealing case.
The suspension is for the rest of the regular season and includes only games, not practices. Michigan is expected to fight this decision in an attempt to relieve Harbaugh of punishment until the NCAA investigation is complete.
Here is the full statement from the Big Ten:
The Big Ten Conference announced today that the University of Michigan has been found in violation of the Big Ten Sportsmanship Policy for conducting an impermissible, in-person scouting operation over multiple years, resulting in an unfair competitive advantage that compromised the integrity of competition.Big Ten Conference Agreement 10.01 states in part that “The Big Ten Conference expects all contests involving a member institution to be conducted without compromise to any fundamental element of sportsmanship. Such fundamental elements include integrity of the competition, civility toward all, and respect, particularly toward opponents and officials.”
As a penalty imposed on the institution, the University football team must compete without its Head Football Coach for the games remaining in the 2023 regular-season, effective immediately. This disciplinary action shall not preclude the University or its football team from having its Head Football Coach attend practices or other football team activities other than the game activities to which it applies. For clarity, the Head Football Coach shall not be present at the game venue on the dates of the games to which this disciplinary action applies.
The Big Ten Conference will have no additional comment at this time.

I miss Keith Jackson...
Ohio State is a perennial also ran. They can make the final four, but they cannot win. This entire thing is about taking out one coach and one team. I grew up rooting for OSU, but that has long been gone. Michigan is a better team, a better program, and best of all graduates players that excel in the NFL. Which is the goal.
First read had me thinking election sign on lawns, or even referendum signage.
So these are signs between coaches and players ?
Me dumb.
😂 I tip a beer for my homies.😉
And Curt Gowdy.
Good post.
It’s all B.S.
Now if he put 12 guys on the field all game I might have a problem with that.😉
It's third down and a country mile to go.....
It’s beyond stupid.
I was looking forward to the Michigan v Ohio State Game. Won’t be the same with Jim on the sideline. He has restored the rivalry.
Go Bucks 👍
Doubt OSU will need signs to beat MSU
Whoa Nelly!
When you have the proper bait, you catch the fish..Nothing wrong with that and kudos to coach Harbaugh just doing what other top tier football coaches are attempting to master.
The transfer portal and the NIL will ultimately destroy college football........
Kinda reminds us of the never before issued charges against Trump for allegedly inflating the value of his properties in order to obtain loans......
This sucks for Penn State. The last thing Penn State needs is a scUM team with a chip on its shoulder.
They should have to forfeit the rest of their games. This stuff keeps happening because getting caught isn’t unprofitable enough.
Apparently, he was on the plane when they announced it.
Sending a person to scout future opponents has been outlawed in the NCAA since 1984 because the biggest schools can afford to do it and the smaller ones can’t.
You mean Gus Johnson doesn’t do it for you when he calls a game like an excited fourth grader? It’s not like he can help it. His brain’s development stopped when he was in the fourth grade for the third time.
Michigan will still win, easily.
Penn State coach James Franklin is a great recruiter, but a horrendous game-day coach.
In the Big Ten, Franklin as a game-day coach is worse than Ryan Day, Jim Harbaugh, Bret Bielema, P.J. Fleck, Kirk Ferentz, Matt Rhule, Greg Schiano, Pat Fitzgerald and (maybe) Paul Chryst.
Franklin ONLY beats good teams when Penn State has overwhelming superior talent. He NEVER wins when the opposing team has equal talent.
More likely OSU will be profiting on the signals they have stolen from past U of M games.........
What the hell do you think game tapes are from the high school level up thru the pros are all about that are studied before every upcoming game?
You don't need coach's signals when you have studied the defensive and offensive alignments of all their plays to figure out what the play is going to be.......
