The hospital I worked at for 7 yrs as a home-based medical transcriptionist shut down our dept in 2010 and sent our jobs to India. So third world “transcriptionists” are now handling the private medical records of tens of millions of Americans, likely in their own homes and without the strict HIPAA rules American MTs had to abide by. It’s been happening at major hospitals all over the country since EMR and ObamaCare took effect and most ppl are unaware of it.
