From October 30 to November 6, 2023, operators of the “Army of Drones” of Ukraine destroyed 317 occupiers and hit a record number of Russian strongholds – 335.
Deputy Prime Minister for Innovations, Development of Education, Science and Technologies — Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov posted this on Telegram.
“Last week, the enemy was unlucky with strongholds - UAV operators eliminated 335 positions, an absolute record,” wrote Fedorov. According to him, the enemy’s destroyed and damaged military equipment include 83 armored fighting vehicles, 36 tanks, 53 cannons, 18 self-propelled artillery systems, 72 units of cargo and special vehicles.
As reported, the Army of Drones project, launched by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Ministry of Digital Transformation, is a comprehensive program that involves systematic drone procurement, maintenance, and training courses for relevant specialists.
The growing reliance on short-range exploding drones on the front line has prompted the Russians to deploy more handheld jamming devices, Ukrainian officials say.
Since the war’s early days, Russia has used long-range, military-grade drones to inflict devastating damage and psychological terror in Ukraine’s capital, Kyiv, and in other cities. Over time, the Ukrainian military has responded by launching its own military-grade drones deep behind enemy lines, targeting warships in the Black Sea, an airport in Western Russia and even buildings in Moscow.
