Rasputitsa, [called bezdorizhzhia] is the mud season. This occurs in various rural areas of Eastern Europe with rapid snowmelt/thawing of frozen ground with wet weather in Spring, or heavy rains in the Autumn. Of course, leads to muddy travel conditions on unpaved roads.
