My guess is not a general worth a Shiite is being not being promoted. I would venture to say that not a single fighting man is missing out on anything because Biden’s leadership picks are not getting bulk promoted by unanimous consent. If these promotions are that crucial these senate dirt bags can work longer than an hour a day and vote on each one individually.

Maybe former military should not be allowed to hold public office (or profit from war).
So instead of a Major General being in command of a Division, give it to the most senior Brigadier. If you don't have a Lieutenant General to comamnd a Corps, give it to the senior-most Major General. Easy-peasey ... treat it as a battlefield position promotion ...

The General Officer and Flag Officer ranks are bloated compared to the Cold War period and WWII. We need cuts in the “star” ranks, not promotions.
