Should say East of woodside. No idea where you are 😂
Westchester county. I drive to Sean Ogs in Woodisde, eat, then take the train. Love it
My point of view regarding the WKC is from an exhibiter.
Showing a dog at the Garden sucked. There is not enough room for people to set up and get your dog ready. It was a benched show. Which means you had to stay with your dog the whole time on the day you are showing.
There was plenty of room around the tents during the day at Terrytown to watch the breed showing. The only people allowed to go in for the group showing at night were the owners of the dogs in the show. We had the 15” Beagle the first year it was in Terrytown. It was great. We sat in the first row right next to the ring.
Staying in Manhattan is a pain in the A$$. The hotels are expensive and crappy. It costs over $50/night just to park your car minimum. IF you want to bring a big suv or van it is over $100/night to park. All the hotels in Terrytown/Dobbs Ferry in Westchester County you park for free.
I think Hornsby was held up for 3 years for gambling at the race track. I think Rose has paid his dues and i favor him getting in the hall before he dies of old age.
Again- they killed the show. Arthur Ashe has ZERO atmosphere. The lower deck was barely half full while no one was in the upper deck.
Tarrytown was elitist BS- from the breed judging to a couple of hundred people at best in show.
It was ALWAYS great at the Garden- the crowds, the atmosphere, etc. The year Daniel won the sporting breed was electric!!! When Miss P the beagle won best in show in 2015, the place erupted. Last year you had the PBGH (or whatever) win and it was like “eh” in Arthur Ashe. If the 2021 show was held at the Garden and that bloodhound won, the place would’ve exploded. In Tarrytown it was light applause.
And that comes through in the broadcast.
And you were just as safe driving to the show at Arthur Ashe as you were in Tarrytown, which has a HUGE illegal population
