Just saying.
This is dumb.
Just stop treating artificially sweetened/flavored drinks as water.
“Quitting” is just another ‘diet’.
You have the weight-loss arc I want to repeat: from 215 to 165. I’ve lost 20 in two months, but I appear to have stabilized at 195. I can feel the difference but I need to be more serious. I’ve cut out a lot of soda but allow myself one a day. I probably need to eliminate that, too, and plan better meals. ...And exercise!
2010, I went off sodas....going to plain no-sugar ice tea (slice of lemon added).
Believe it or not, moderate exercise burns very few calories. Reducing the amount of calories you consume works best. Like filling your gas tank (stomach), it takes a few minutes to fill it, but hours to empty it.
I have one with lunch and one with dinner. That's the total of liquid calories I drink each day. 165 calories.
I finally kicked my habit by switching to Coffee.
No, not the Starbucks 1500 calorie frapuccinos...
plain black coffee (with the occasional creamer)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thums_Up
Thums Up is the Indian version of Coke, used to be great because it had 1/3 the amount of sugar as coke but you drank it and realized it tasted just as fine, meaning that excess sugar was not needed at all, sadly I checked it recently and they for some dumb reason now added as much sugar to it as the North American Coke
“A soda generally costs between $2–$3 when you buy it at a fast-food restaurant.”
Generally, that might be true, but although the regional McDonald’s franchises recently raised prices, a medium is still $1.29 and I get at least one refill (aspertame fueled). No, I’m not diabetic, obese, etc., etc.
-aspartame-
I’ve never tried Thums Up but the scuttlebutt on it for years was that it tasted good warm (while Coke definitely doesn’t). The taste-good-warm was supposedly a main selling point in India where home refrigeration isn’t 100%.
“Just stop treating artificially sweetened/flavored drinks as water.”
Just letting you know... artificially sweetened does not refer to adding natural sugar to drinks. The majority of the article is about natural sugars, not artificial sweeteners.
Sucralose combined with maltodextrin allows one to enjoy the taste of Coke.
Quitting sodas and cigarettes which I did 16 and 25 years ago improved the content of my wallet considerably.
I did not have a body weight problem to fix but it sure helped the health of my bank accountt.
Artificial sweeteners are toxic..as is sugar....
Best is natural honey
Better still...get the hive kit...bees...
And moke your own.
Good trade....honey for ammo.
Yep, for the most part, sodas are just dead calories of high fructose corn syrup.
I made no statement about artificial sweeteners.
People have adopted advertising as a narrative for health, replacing water with all manner of unnatural alternatives.
All sweetened drinks artificially sweetened except juices such as OJ, but I know of no one EVER who drank OJ as a substitute for water.
I have drank soda all my life and never gained any weight from it.
