When you know that a contract is in place and mass production is underway, and then a source no one can track down says a test flight failed, the obvious conclusion is the test flight did not even happen, successful or failed.

And I don’t know how Ukrainian air defense operators quoting a number is relevant to the missile being in mass production.
How is that relevant?

BTW I have seen photos of the debris, it’s in the wiki, and I went and looked up the device the Russians said that debris was from. It looked just like it. You’ll agree if you track it down.

As for the max velocity, it seems likely the radar would not have come off the assembly line with readouts at hyper mach magnitude. I would not design it for that when nothing like that existed at time of design. So giving these youngsters the benefit of the doubt, they probably quoted the max speed they were capable of measuring.

Kinzhal missiles are shot down by Patriots because they are not even close to being hypersonic. That’s why they haven’t been used by Russia in months. All hype, just like SATAN-2.
